About

I have long been interested in adventure and have led trips to (mostly) East Africa since the mid-80s.  This China adventure is a Duke Alumni Association sponsored trip that has earned accolades from past travelers.  My interest was peaked by the 17-day itinerary which included Tibet, Xian, travel on the Li River and the Panda Sanctuary in Chengdu.  The blog is a new strategy for me.  I normally write and draw in an old-fashioned journal…which I will still create…probably.  The blog entries with photos may prove to be a perfect upgrade.  The title of the blog was inspired by a book by Deborah Fallows that I will be re-reading on the long flight to Beijing:  Dreaming in Chinese: Mandarin Lessons in Life, Love and Language.
